Monique Shay - Search for Authenticity

I'm thrilled to have yet another high taste level client from Connecticut this year. This wonderful couple loves the French Canadian painted furniture at Monique Shay in Woodbury, CT. There is a truckload of it headed this way for the house here in Naples we are renovating together. I can't say enough about my belief that what people really want today in their lives is the authentic. This is no doubt why Ralph Lauren and Martha Stewart have been so wildly successful ! Check out Monique's site at http://www.moniqueshay.com/ her stock is held in three barns on Main Street in Woodbury, many of the photos on her site are by photographer Miki Duisterhof... see http://www.mikiduisterhof.com/ Furthering the quest for the real, we are using saltillo style tiles throughout the house...something seen more in mission style buildings in the west than here in south Florida...The decorative listello and deco insert tiles have a french blue that we will also be using for some of the walls, which is quite fresh, like a clear sky in the winter here. I'm looking forward to posting some more completed shots after we bring in the furniture. Stay tuned... DF*****
