A FAVORITE CLIENT, DFID, NAPLES
| DFID (c) 2016 |
Pittsburgh native, Charles Fleck, has been a good client and a wonderful friend over the past 17 years or so, we had some fun last night hanging his new painting by Rick Moore, who used to own a gallery here in Naples...(shown above)
| DFID (c) 2016 |
I took these quick shots with my phone- we also had recently freshened up his bedroom, with new paint, carpet, curtains, and bedcoverings...keeping the mirrored wall and the existing bed, by Kreiss...Enjoy ! DF *****

Happy Birthday RL !
![]() |
| Ralph Lauren |
Happy Birthday to Ralph! An ultimate inspiration, icon, and success in business and in life. When Albert Hadley was asked by the Laurens to visit their Fifth Avenue apartment for a consultation, Albert took in what magic Angelo Donghia had created~(an uptown loft in white)~and was so impressed that he said he wouldn't change anything! Brilliant!
This crisp image of RL himself reminds me of the time I was on the beach in the famous Hamptons, and saw Calvin come out in a white terry robe, standing on a terrace, looking just like one of his own models! New York, you gotta love it! DF *****

Ralph's Paris
I was excited to see that Veranda this month had featured the new "cote d'azur" china pattern...along with some other RL accoutrement since the firm I'm associated with, MP Interiors ~is also showing it prominently displayed in our suite 149...with complete interior design services available.
Click here to visit the Ralph Lauren Paris and see the fabulous new Ralph's restaurant there...both the exterior and the interior design of this amazing hotel particulier on Boulevard Saint Germain are waiting for you to explore and to enjoy! What's on your low table?
| DFID via I-phone |
If you are what your table is wearing, then I am a remnant of zebra hide, (from when I visited the RL furniture factory years ago), a Maitland Smith blue and white porcelain bowl, (filled with Agraria Bitter Orange potpourri), and a quirky small covered urn in a mottled brown metal, given to me years ago by my old friend Nicholas Cardone. (Nicky and I have been friends for almost 40 years now!)
I do like the lower height of this small table with the low seat height of my antique chesterfield, which I've shown more than once in previous posts on my Naples living room. Enjoy! DF *****

Pauline in My Dreams
![]() | |
| Baroness Pauline de Rothschild |
Last night, after burning my new "Saint Germain" candle from Ralph Lauren, I had the most vivid dream about the late Baroness de Rothschild....she was talking to me, and giving me a tour of her home ~and wearing a tailleur of a chic solid grey fabric, with the most elegant black patent pumps, which were quite low, and very flattering to her long legs and narrow feet. I just discovered this blog , called the Esoteric Curious, which has a good bio of her life in a very palatable length, do read it! Enjoy ! DF *****
"The
great danger for an American woman married to a Frenchman is to become
too French. To assimilate too much of another nationality weakens you.
Though on the surface I might not seem to be 100 percent American, I
have tried to remain as shaggy inside as possible."
