SUMMER: Respite!

Once again, taking the Summer "off" to rest and relax, not to mention stay cool and dry...should be better than last, since we seem to be winding down from the dread COVID business.. at least in the States, that is... here's to Summer, may yours be relaxing, restful, stress free and FUN !!!

2017 : A Year To Remember !

A favorite gift this year - Stubbs and Wooton slippers!

What a year!  I ended it with a blast as over sixty dear friends showed up for my birthday!  Thanks again to the hosts, plus my friends and family !

All set for the guests!

Since I received over 82 pictures of the merry revelers, I decided to not show any of them!  No favoritism here!  I was also delighted to be pleasantly surprised as my family came down just for the party!

TROPICAL HOLIDAY II, Naples

The French architect-decorator, Robert Couturier, whom my old dear friend and mentor Tice Alexander jokingly called "Bob Taylor" said something about paradise being a place where you go when you are dead- and we all know what he meant- he had a Naples client when he was quoted as making this very Gallic acerbic remark- and it is funny. 

These snap shots capture a tiny glimpse of Christmas in Naples- where opulence is making a huge comeback- it's only just beginning. 

I so enjoyed the visit from my family this year, and we made the rounds from the Ritz Carlton, to Tarpon Lodge, to Third Street South.  I saw many, many old friends and acquaintances and was so happy to see them.  One's true wealth is measured in health and friends and family. 

Trusting that all of my readers and followers had an enjoyable holiday and will have an even better New Years Eve and New Year!  Here comes 2017!  Ready or not!  DF *****

Ever since I woke up in a mirrored tester bed, having been kissed awake by a white Bichon, I've had an appreciation for the benefits of owning a pet, dogs specifically.
