Last October, there was a beautiful auction at Christie's New York, of the estate of San Francisco socialite (and Michael Taylor client) Diana Dollar Knowles... our charming friend, the designer and blogger Mr. James Andrew created a wonderful post about it on his site called "What Is James Wearing?"

Suzanne Tucker, Mr. Taylor's protege' and former assistant, was mentioned in the "T" piece on this sale- and talked about how brilliant he was at pulling together disparate objects, mixing the finest antiques with a sense of scale and proportion not often seen.  Contrasting deliciously with his opulent nature-inspired "California Look".

Some of the realized auction prices were quite reasonable, including a group of three bouillotte lamps of varying sizes for only $2,200.  The total proceeds were in excess of three million dollars
