You Decorated My Life

Lions Gate, 1938, Paul R. Williams, Bel Air, CA
I was most interested to hear that singer Kenny Rogers, had recently sold his Bel Air house, called Lions Gate, completely furnished~and for a mere $46 million!  Adding an extra sheen of polish to this property is that it was a Paul R. Williams design...

One of the many books about and by Paul R. Williams
You must read up on this iconic California architect, for his life and work were truly amazing...

  1. other than the front facade it doesn't really look like much original remains from Williams design -but you're right - that book is a must have!!

    1. Stefan,
Yes, Am sure the original foot print has expanded greatly- the book is in my collection, and I really enjoy it. What a magnificent career the trail blazing Williams had, along with his contemporary Quincy Jones, who designed Sunnylands for the Annenbergs in Rancho mirage. Thanks as always for your comments!
