Old Charleston Elegance, DFID

DEAN FARRIS INTERIOR DESIGN

One of my favorite clients, and projects~ located in an old carriage house on Saint Michaels' Alley, in Charleston, South Carolina is shown above.

The clients, who are also old friends, collected American antiques for many years, including portrait miniatures, some of which are displayed in the small vitrine ~ notice the handsome portrait of Lord Byron.  All fabrics and trimmings, Scalamandre'.  The floor is original to the house. Circa 1750 ~
Enjoy!  DF *****

  2. Karena,
That's an old documentary silk, most likely originating from the 19th century. The shade of blue is wonderful, very celestial !

    1. Linda,
My clients never used this small parlor-
They preferred the upstairs library, which was placed between their bedrooms-
A very ancient French lady was living in the house when they bought it back in 1998...
