Maison 140 Beverly HillsOne of my favorite shops in Naples has closed. Rue Toulouse, the antiques shop belonging to Spencer Ott, was a fabulous resource for french and continental style furnishings. Karin Wilkinson ran the shop, and I enjoyed working with her. I'm sorry to see them go, but it seems to be a sign of the times. For years, I have held onto this image from "Veranda" showing the antiques/design shop Watkins Culver, in Houston. Owned by Babs Watkins , you can see this shop on the design blog COTE DE TEXAS. The walls are painted by artist Jay Iarussi http://www.artofplaster.com/ and I very much enjoy the ambience of this setting.
