Blue is for Biennale

Louis XV commode from the Biennale des Antiquaires, PARIS
I fell in love with the blue decoration on this piece~ which was shown in the recent biennale in Paris.  The combination of the rich blue lacquer with the gilded chinoiserie and the ormulu mounts is sensational!

While there is no blue shown in this previous apartment of mine, this image for me evokes a mood of living in Paris, or near Paris~
with the pair topiary trees, the tufted settee a la Madeline Castaing, and the unusual baroque style wine table under the crystal chandelier.  Notice my curtains are tied back here.  One can see the spirit of Autumn here~ and tomorrow is October first!  Enjoy!  DF *****

  1. Dean I love the tufted settee in your former apartment. The gilt and blue commode is fabulous beyond! Truly stunning!

    1. Peggy,
I need to go back and see which dealer was showing this piece. I dream about it when I sleep!

  3. Oh, gimme that divine bleu commode de Louis XV! And your previous apartment resonates with me. Dean wouldn't it be loads of fun if we could get together a group of friends and colleagues, who love the same French things we do, for a group trip to the Paris Biennale?

    1. Dear Jeanne,
My old pal, Micene' Fontaine, of Design Arts Seminars, in Tallahassee, FL is from Belgium, and he has such tours available.
Could we stay at The Hotel Ritz, on the vendome side? We can put you in the Coco Chanel suite!

    2. Dean, is it an idea to perhaps maybe stay at L'Hotel for some of the time over there. Hip Left Bank location, L'Hotel has been a favorite of the Rolling Stones and was redecorated by Jacques Garcia with loads of soul. All the rooms, suites, and apartment are shown on L'Hotel website. I'd be interested to hear what you think of the place after viewing the website.
